Happy Monday
How was your weekend? Hope you didn’t get blown away! We had a relaxing weekend, with good hearty home cooked food, walks in the fresh air and lots of family time. Stay tuned this weekon our FB page for a Paleo bread recipe we made which was a hit!
In today’s newsletter I thought I would share with you 21 advanced core exercises. Not a crunch or sit up in sight
What is your core?
Your core is a complex series of muscles that pretty much include all muscles with the exception of the arms and legs.
Core muscles can act as an isometric or dynamic stabiliser for movement, transfer force from one extremity to another, or initiate movement
The problem with core training is that many do too much of the wrong kind of training. In “real life movement” (that’s the movement you do that isn’t in the gym) you rarely use your core muscles as prime movers. You actually use your core as a stabiliser and force transfer er.
When you stand up, you use your core to stabilise and when you run, you stabilise your core and transfer power into the hips and shoulders to generate locomotion.
A strong core is vital so without further ado, here are 21 exercises you can try next time you are wanting to work the core.
That’s it for today,
Paul “6 pack beers” and Krystie “apple core” Miller
