Meet G

G is in his 50’s.

I want to tell you that when G first came to Results Personal Training he was overweight, unfit and weak but truthfully that would be a lie.

G was already in half decent shape. In his younger years he had hit the gym reasonably hard and had recently (in the last few years) taken up mountain biking.

But in the case of many of us, G had let things slide a little. He hadn’t trained in the gym in a few years, partially due to motivation and partially due to a back injury. He knew he needed to do something about his health, fitness and his back before things started to get worse. On top of this G’s son was getting more and more into training and quite frankly G wanted to make sure he was keeping up with him (and maybe still beating him 😉

G has been training with us at Results PT for about a year and his fitness and strength continue to improve day in day out.

G trains 3x per week. 1 PT session with yours truly and 2 group sessions with the boys

Here’s what G had to say about us :

Again G is in his 50’s. He has a 6 pack

Can Deadlift 160 kg

Can Bench Press 115 kg

Can perform 15 Chin Ups

Can box jump over 80cm plus

He doesn’t get daily back pain anymore

And these are literally just a few of his accomplishments.

G outperforms many in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. I think he is a shining example of what we can all achieve.

He epitomises the Everyday Athlete. Someone that looks, feels and performs better.

According to the ministry of health less than ½ the NZ population is physically active. This is a statistic that astounds me every time. Just to clarify, brisk walking is considered physically active. Now in my book I would strongly argue that a bit of brisk walking is not adequate. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

Yes, it’s a great place to start, but we need to do more. Just take a peek at the stats for diabetes, heart disease or cancer and it’s clear that we New Zealanders aren’t doing enough.

My personal and professional experience would guesstimate that less than 10% of New Zealanders are doing adequate exercise to maintain optimal health. Which is a truly sad state of affairs.

This needs to change

But what does it take…

Like G the Everyday Athlete is someone that prioritises a healthy and physically active lifestyle in order to live life to the fullest.

Exercise and physical activity is part of the Everyday Athlete’s DNA. Being active is not something they think they should do but rather it’s just something they do. It’s part of who they are.

If you’re ready to make health and fitness part of who you are, part of your identity like G, so you can be strong, fit and healthy in your 50’s and beyond then we are here for you.

It’s time to make a change. Don’t be another statistic
