Now that summer has come, and barbeques are in full swing, eating healthy doesn’t mean eliminating tomato sauce. Typically, store bought tomato sauce has loads of sugar in, not what we are after when following a healthy eating plan. So give this easy recipe a go and use it on all your favourite meats.
Ingredients:
2 cans tomato paste
4 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
1/2 tsp ground mustard
2/3 cup water
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
2 pinches ground cloves
2 pinches ground allspice
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
Method:
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir well to combine. Leave in the fridge overnight to let the flavours combine and develop. Enjoy.
