Happy Monday All,

Hope you had a lovely weekend. We started our Saturday with watching the beautiful sunrise at our local beach, then filled the weekend with walks, good food, gardening, four wheel motorbike adventures and more.


On to today’s topic:


That Coke incident 

No, I’m not talking about my misspent youth, I’m talking about Ronaldo

I have to say it would be nice to see UEFA, maybe, just maybe supporting a brand in the health space rather than just going for the money. 

That said McDonalds has supported the Olympics for many, many years 

Ronaldo who is considered by many the best footballer (soccer player for you NZers) in the world right now. Has millions of young boys and girls looking up to him. His influence on these young minds goes far beyond the reach of any advertising. 

Obesity is on the rise and childhood obesity is climbing at a scary rate. A study
published in The Lancet, suggests Pacific Island children had the highest body mass index in the world, with New Zealand kids not far behind. In fact 39% of kiwi kids are classified as obese or overweight 

It is said that by 2025 globally obesity related illness will cost 1.2 trillion a year. 

By shifting the Coke bottles off camera and simply saying the words ‘’Aqua’’ he may prevent many, many youngsters from grabbing that bottle of coke and maybe just picking up some water instead. 

Well done Ronaldo, you scored a goal in my book. 


To conclude 


This isn’t really about Coke, Coke is just providing a product. We all know that Coke is full of sugar but many of us buy it anyway. Coke has taken the flack and it is said their value dropped by 4 billion dollars. Coke was unlucky as this could have been any of the other soda giants.
